A: The Republican-led Congress last year passed historic tax relief for Americans that included a new enhanced tax deduction (https://www.irs.gov/publications/p554#en_US_2025_publink1000161551) for seniors effective for tax years 2025 through 2028. These savings are geared to help older taxpayers living on fixed incomes make ends meet.
