ORONO, Maine, Sept. 9 -- University of Maine issued the following news release:
University of Maine associate professor of family studies Daniel Puhlman has been appointed to the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) 2026 CEO Workgroup: Artificial Intelligence (AI).
The group has been tasked with developing ethical guidelines for licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs), supervisors and researchers around issues related to AI, as well as best-practices for providing services and training to clinicians.
Puhlman, who is a LMFT and has written about and published research on the use of AI in family therapy, is one of five national experts selected for the workgroup.
