BLACKSBURG, Va., June 8 -- Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University issued the following news release:
The College of Natural Resources and Environment has established the Harold E. Burkhart Endowed Memorial Fellowship, creating new funding opportunities for graduate students pursuing advanced study in forest management.
Funded through contributions from family, alumni, and partners across the forestry community, the fellowship honors Burkhart's lasting influence on forest science and the generations of students he mentored. The endowment will provide annual support to one or more graduate students, helping reduce financial barriers and expand access to hands-on research and professional development.
