Today, U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.), a leader on the Senate Appropriations Committee, traveled to Putnam and Cabell counties where she made stops focused on Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) allocations she helped secure.
First, Senator Capito traveled to Eleanor, W.Va. where she toured the Winfield Locks and Dam, a critical navigation facility on the Kanawha River operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Senator Capito secured a $6.9 million CDS allocation in Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) and an additional $8 million CDS allocation in Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) to support facility improvements.
