ORSOLYA BALOGH REAPPOINTED THE JOANNE S. O'BRIEN PROFESSOR OF THERIOGENOLOGY

BLACKSBURG, Va., Sept. 29 -- Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University issued the following news release:

Orsolya Balogh, associate professor in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences in the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech, has been reappointed the JoAnne S. O'Brien Professor of Theriogenology by the Virginia Tech Board of Visitors.

The O'Brien endowment was established in 1999 with a gift from Joanne S. O'Brien, DVM, a Washington, D.C.-based veterinarian and long-time supporter of the college. O'Brien recognized the need for research support in the field of theriogenology for dogs and cats, and the importance of the field in the improvement of breeds and breeding programs.
