WASHINGTON, Aug. 21 -- Office of the Secretary has issued a rule called: Administrative Simplification: Modifications of Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), National Council for Prescription Drug Programs (NCPDP) Retail Pharmacy Standards; and Modification of the Medicaid Pharmacy Subrogation Standard; Updates to Compliance and Other Related Dates.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Aug. 21 by Robert F. Kennedy, Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services.
