OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY ISSUES NOTICE: PRIVACY ACT OF 1974; SYSTEM OF RECORDS

WASHINGTON, May 11 -- Office of the Secretary has issued a notice called: Privacy Act of 1974; System of Records.

The notice was published in the Federal Register on May 11 by Karyn Gorman, Departmental Chief Privacy Officer.

Summary: In accordance with the Privacy Act of 1974, the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), proposes a new system of records titled "DOT/FMCSA 015 FMCSA Registration Records." The purpose of this system of records is to allow FMCSA to consolidate the existing FMCSA registration systems in accordance with 49 U.S.C. 13908.
