WASHINGTON, July 27 -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued a proposed rule called: Modernizing Package Certification Requirements.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on July 27 by Jody Martin, Secretary of the Commission.

Summary: The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to amend its regulations governing the packaging and transportation of radioactive material. This proposed action is responsive to several executive orders and the NRC's mission to enable the safe and secure use of nuclear materials in an efficient and reliable manner.
