NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMISSION ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NATIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT

WASHINGTON, July 7 -- Nuclear Regulatory Commission has issued a proposed rule called: Implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on July 7 by Tomas Herrera, Acting Secretary of the Commission.

Summary: The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is proposing to revise the NRC's regulations to streamline and modernize its implementation of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969, as amended (NEPA).
