U.S. Senators Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla (both-D-Calif.), joined Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.) and Democratic colleagues in calling (https://www.blumenthal.senate.gov/imo/media/doc/2026-06-24_letter_appropriations-cftc.pdf) on the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government to prohibit the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) from using federal funding to prevent states and Tribes from enforcing their gambling laws and gaming compacts with respect to prediction markets.
