Today, the Senate unanimously approved a resolution (https://www.schiff.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/RIL26423.pdf) from U.S. Senators Adam Schiff and Alex Padilla (both D-Calif.) congratulating the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Bruins women's basketball team, who won their program's first National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) title on April 5.
The resolution honors Head Coach Cori Close, who led the team to a 37-1 record, as well as seniors Lauren Betts, Gabriela Jaquez, Kiki Rice, Angela Dugalic, Gianna Kneepkens, and Charlisse Leger-Walker, who scored every point for the Bruins during the championship game.
