Today, U.S. Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, is introducing the DEATH BETS Act, legislation (https://www.schiff.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/RYA26191.pdf) to explicitly prohibit any Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) registered entity from listing any contract that involves, relates to, or references terrorism, assassination, war, or an individual's death.
Representative Mike Levin (D-Calif-49) will be introducing companion legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives.
