WASHINGTON, June 22 -- National Park Service has issued a notice called: Notice of Intended Repatriation: Fort Lewis College, Durango, CO.
The notice was published in the Federal Register on June 22 by Melanie O'Brien, Manager, National NAGPRA Program.
Summary: In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), Fort Lewis College intends to repatriate certain cultural items that meet the definition of sacred objects/objects of cultural patrimony and that have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations in this notice.
