WASHINGTON, March 16 -- National Park Service has issued a notice called: Notice of Intended Repatriation: Carnegie Museum of Natural History, Pittsburgh, PA.
The notice was published in the Federal Register on March 16 by Melanie O'Brien, Manager, National NAGPRA Program.
Summary: In accordance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), the Carnegie Museum of Natural History (CMNH) intends to repatriate certain cultural items that meet the definition of sacred objects/objects of cultural patrimony and that have a cultural affiliation with the Indian Tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations in this notice.
