COLUMBUS, Ga., July 17 -- Columbus State University issued the following news release:
When Shameta Jones-Harrell was sworn in as police chief of Austell, Georgia, in June
2025, she became the first woman to hold the position there and in all of Cobb County.
While this achievement marks a significant milestone in her 25-year career, she continues
to prioritize her personal and professional development as a Columbus State graduate
student.
As part of her growth, she is pursuing a master of public safety administration degreethrough CSU's Command College. She began her studies in 2024 and plans to graduate this December. For Jones-Harrell,
