JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 15 -- The Mississippi Department of Marine Resources issued the following news release:
In addition to waters previously opened May 26, 2026, to shrimping by order of the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources (MDMR), all waters south and west of a line beginning at Beacon "18" in the Biloxi Bay Channel, northwesterly to Beacon "26" in the Biloxi Bay Channel, westerly to Beacon "34," exclusive of the Biloxi Channel itself, then westerly to Beacon "30" in the Biloxi Channel, exclusive of the Biloxi Channel itself, and due south to a point on Deer Island are declared and ordered opened at 6 a.m. on Friday, October 16, 2026 for shrimping as provided by law and the regulations of the MDMR.
