Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01), a 24-year veteran, has joined legislation to rename two Veterans Affairs (VA) facilities in honor of two National guardsmen, Sergeant Edgar Torres-Tovar and Sergeant William Nathaniel Howard who gave their lives serving our country.
The Iowa National Guard Heroes Commemoration Act would designate the VA clinic in Des Moines, as the ''Staff Sergeant Edgar Torres-Tovar VA Clinic'' and the community-based outpatient clinic of the Department in Marshalltown will be named the ''Staff Sergeant William Nathaniel Howard VA Clinic."
