Washington, March 3 -- Congresswoman Mariannette Miller-Meeks issued the following press release:

U.S. Reps. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01) and Ashley Hinson (IA-02) sent a letter to Whirlpool Corporation CEO Marc Bitzer demanding answers following the company's announcement that 341 workers at its Amana, Iowa facility will be laid off effective March 9, 2026.

In the letter, the Members called the decision "unacceptable in its impact and deeply troubling in its implications," citing concerns that domestic manufacturing jobs may be shifting outside the United States at the same time Iowa workers are losing theirs.
