ORONO, Maine, June 26 -- University of Maine issued the following news release:

National Parks Traveler and The Ellsworth American featured University of Maine doctoral student Deirdre McGrath for receiving an Acadia Science Fellowship to study erosion affecting Wabanaki cultural sites in Acadia National Park. McGrath, working with UMaine assistant professor of anthropology Bonnie Newsom, will use drone-mounted sensors to create three-dimensional models that will help measure erosion rates and inform decisions about protecting culturally significant coastal sites.
