FAYETTEVILLE, Ark., Aug. 4 -- The University of Arkansas issued the following news release:

Many of the biggest scientific discoveries happening at the U of A are too small to see. Materials science - the study of the structure and properties of materials like graphene, silicon carbide and silicon-germanium-tin - focuses on the atomic scale. And the U of Ais particularly strong in materials science research.

Growing the school's work in this field will be central to reaching the university's goal of $500 million in research expenditures by 2032.
