ATHENS, Ga., Aug. 7 -- The University of Georgia issued the following news release:
Margaret Morrison was the first artist featured in the UGA Performing Arts Center's Lobby Gallery in 2024. She returns with"Antiques," a selection of four colorful, outsized canvases depicting displays from Italian antique markets. The exhibition runs through early January with an opening reception at 5 p.m. on Aug. 27.
Morrison, a retired professor emerita from the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences' Lamar Dodd School of Art, taught for nearly 25 years and served as chair of the painting and drawing department. She created three of the exhibitedpaintings in Cortona, Italy, where she taught in the summer, and the fourth at her home studio in Bogart.
