MANNING INSTITUTE'S BIOMEDICAL 'SPARK TANK' HAS THE GOAL OF SAVING LIVES

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., July 29 -- The University of Virginia issued the following news release:

Mark Esser, chief scientific officer and head of the Paul and Diane Manning Institute of Biotechnology, stands beside the under-construction building that will be the institute's home. Though the building isn't finished, the institute is running at top speed to find cures for an array of vexing conditions and diseases, an effort that includes Tuesday's "SPARK Tank" pitching competition.
