KLOBUCHAR STATEMENT AS CANADIAN RETALIATORY TARIFFS TAKE EFFECT

WASHINGTON, Sept. 8 -- Sen. Amy Klobuchar issued the following news release:

U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), co-chair of the Canada-U.S. Inter-Parliamentary Group, released the following statement as Canada's retaliatory tariffs on U.S. goods take effect today.

Klobuchar is a lead sponsor on legislation to revoke the newest global tariffs and 50 percent tariffs on Canada.

"The Administration's 50 percent tariffs on Canadian goods, along with Canada's retaliatory tariffs that took effect today, will only make it harder for Minnesota businesses and farmers to compete and will further drive up prices for families.
