LARAMIE, Wyo., April 24 -- The University of Wyoming issued the following news release:
The inaugural UWYO Honor Band, presented by the University of Wyoming Department of
Music, will perform the 2026 UWYO Honor Band Concert Saturday, May 2, at 5 p.m. in
the Buchanan Center for the Performing Arts concert hall.
This performance, free and open to the public, serves as the grand finale of the first
UWYO Band Summit, a three-day event that brings together select musicians in ninth-12th
grades from across the region. Under the leadership of UW Director of Bands Matthew
Schlomer, the festival uses an innovative approach, focusing on student connections
and artistic inspiration drawn from nature and personal growth.
