On May 21, 2026, Congressman Deluzio (PA-17) passed his bill, the Railway Safety Act, as part of the must-pass transportation bill, the BUILD America 250 Act. It passed out of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee (https://deluzio.house.gov/media/press-releases/deluzio-named-powerful-transportation-and-infrastructure-committee) on May 21, 2026, and now heads to the House floor for a vote. Congressman Deluzio joined the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in 2024 with the specific goal of passing strong rail safety legislation.
