In case you missed it, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand published an opinion piece in The Hill demanding that Congress take action to support victims of sexual assault in the wake of allegations of a horrific gang rape at Cornell University.
Senator Gillibrand argues that Congress-after spending two weeks debating regulations for college sports-must find time to protect students on college campuses. She urges passage of her bipartisan legislation, the Campus Accountability and Safety Act (CASA), and describes how that legislation could have helped Jane Doe and stands to help other survivors in the future if passed.
