U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-Miss.) today reintroduced her legislation to designate the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians in Adams County as an affiliated area of the National Park Service (NPS).

The Grand Village of the Natchez Indians and Jefferson College Affiliated Areas Establishment Act (https://www.hydesmith.senate.gov/sites/default/files/2026-02/Natchez%20Grand%20Village-Jefferson%20College%20Affiliated%20Areas%20Establishment%20Act.pdf) would make the Grand Village of the Natchez Indians eligible for preservation, protection, and interpretation resources as an affiliate area of the Natchez National Historical Park.
