Senior visits General Assembly with UPP cohort
The UPP cohort meets with legislative and policy professionals at the capital.
Students in the Undergraduate Policy Program (UPP) of the Virginia Academy of Science, Engineering and Medicine visited the Virginia General Assembly in Richmond this month [DP2] for a firsthand
look at how science and public policy intersect.
Radford student Stevie Freeman, a senior from Ivanhoe, Virginia, is among the 2026 UPP cohort of eight students
representing nine universities. The group met with Del. Destiny LaVere Bolling and
Sen. Lashrecse Aird to discuss some of today's most pressing science and policy challenges.
