U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) cosponsored the Workplace Overdose Reversal Kits (WORK) to Save Lives Act, bipartisan legislation to help tackle rising rates of opioid overdoses with increased access to overdose reversal medications like naloxone.

The National Safety Council found (https://www.nsc.org/in-the-newsroom/poll-75-of-employers-say-their-workplace-impacted-by-opioid-use?srsltid=AfmBOoqQj9lvunwMCSasSlXNQfOjUP14VNA8dEdcHmb8VUuHAT5U8qjS) that while 75 percent of employers report seeing opioid use impact their workplace, only 17 percent report being well-prepared to address it.
