TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Oct. 12 -- Florida State University issued the following news release:
Florida State University has appointed Keithen Mathis as interim director of the FSU Civil Rights Institute (CRI). Mathis will lead the institute's academic and public-facing initiatives and its work to advance civil rights research, dialogue and engagement.
A respected scholar and educator, Mathis brings extensive experience in research, teaching and community engagement to the role. He currently serves as a teaching professor and associate dean for Culture and Community Engagement at FSU's College of Social Work.
