RICHMOND, Va., Nov. 1 -- The U.S. Department of Justice's Federal Bureau of Investigation Richmond Field Office issued the following press release:
NORFOLK, Va. - Alex Tyler Buenaga, 33, of Suffolk, was sentenced today to life in prison for production of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and coercion of a minor to engage in illegal sexual activity. Ryan Wade Johnston, 46, of Virginia Beach, was sentenced to 25 years in prison for receipt of CSAM, possession of CSAM, and transportation of CSAM.
According to court documents, beginning in October 2024, Buenaga, 32, a former Newport News firefighter, began sexually assaulting a three-month-old infant, filming the abuse, and distributing the resultant CSAM online. Buenaga invited others, incl...
