For the first time in history, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley (MA-07) delivered Frederick Douglas's 1852 speech, "What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?" on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives. Ahead of America's 250th anniversary, Congresswoman Pressley shared the speech as a reminder and call to action to the American people to confront the inequities perpetuated since our nation's origin and continue to fight for the liberation of all people.
