FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION ISSUES NOTICE: U.S.-ORIGIN STATEMENTS ON SEAFOOD; DRAFT GUIDANCE FOR INDUSTRY; AVAILABILITY

WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 -- Food and Drug Administration has issued a notice called: U.S.-Origin Statements on Seafood; Draft Guidance for Industry; Availability.

The notice was published in the Federal Register on Oct. 27 by Grace R. Graham, Deputy Commissioner for Policy, Legislation, and International Affairs.

Summary: The Food and Drug Administration (FDA or we) is announcing the availability of a draft guidance for industry entitled "U.S.-Origin Statements on Seafood." The draft guidance, when finalized, will provide examples of U.S.-origin statements in seafood product labeling that FDA would consider to be truthful and not misleading.
