WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 -- Fish and Wildlife Service has issued a proposed rule called: General Provisions; Revised List of Birds Protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Oct. 1 by Kevin Lilly, Assistant Secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks.

Summary: We, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service), propose to revise the List of Birds Protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act (MBTA) by both adding and removing species and changing names to conform to accepted use by the scientific community.
