WASHINGTON, Oct. 9 -- The U.S. Department of Justice's U.S. Attorney's office for XXXXXX (insert district) issued the following press release:

COVINGTON, Ky. -Two men, Ryan Cooley, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Nicholas Sturgill, of Villa Hills, Ky., were sentenced on Thursday to prison terms of 12.5 years and 10 years, respectively, by Chief U.S. District Judge David Bunning for distribution of fentanyl resulting in death.

An investigation revealed that on May 21, 2025, Nathaniel Ferguson, Cooley and Sturgill's co-defendant, sold approximately 50 pressed pills containing fentanyl and xylazine to Cooley. Cooley then sold the pills to Sturgill, who brought them to his Kenton County residence and shared them with the victim, who died the ...
