WASHINGTON, Sept. 3 -- Federal Aviation Administration has issued a rule called: Airworthiness Directives; Airbus SAS Airplanes.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Sept. 3 by Brian Knaup, Acting Deputy Director, Integrated Certificate Management Division, Aircraft Certification Service.

Summary: The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Airbus SAS Model A350-1041 airplanes. This AD was prompted by the detection of missing chamfers under the heads of critical fasteners on the primary structure of both pylons. This AD requires an inspection of the fasteners in the affected areas and corrective actions if necessary. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products.
