ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY ISSUES RULE: PERMETHRIN; PESTICIDE TOLERANCES

WASHINGTON, Aug. 3 -- Environmental Protection Agency has issued a rule called: Permethrin; Pesticide Tolerances.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Aug. 3 by Charles Smith, Director, Registration Division, Office of Pesticide Programs.

Summary: This regulation establishes a tolerance for residues of permethrin (CASRN 52645-53-1) in or on the food and feed commodity of black pepper at 0.1 parts per million (ppm). Under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FFDCA), the American Spice Trade Association, Inc, submitted a petition to EPA requesting that EPA establish a maximum permissible level for residues of this pesticide in or on the identified commodity.
