WASHINGTON, March 6 -- Environmental Protection Agency has issued a notice called: Bennett Landfill Fire Superfund Site, Chester, South Carolina; Proposed Settlements.
The notice was published in the Federal Register on March 6 by Maurice Horsey, Branch Chief, Enforcement Branch, Superfund & Emergency Management Division.
Summary: Under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA), the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is proposing to enter into individual settlements with three parties concerning the Bennett Landfill Fire Site located in Chester, South Carolina. The proposed settlements address recovery of CERCLA costs incurred by EPA for a cleanup performed at the site.
