WASHINGTON, April 28 -- Drug Enforcement Administration has issued a proposed rule called: Schedules of Controlled Substances: Rescheduling of Marijuana; Withdrawal.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on April 28 by Todd Blanche, Acting Attorney General.

Summary: The Department of Justice published a notice of proposed rulemaking in the Federal Registeron May 21, 2024, which proposed to transfer marijuana from schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act to schedule III. The Drug Enforcement Administration ("DEA") published a notice of hearing on the proposed rule in the Federal Registeron August 29, 2024.
