DOWNING INTRODUCES NO HUD FUNDING FOR SANCTUARY CITIES ACT

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Congressman Troy Downing (MT-02) introduced HR 10222, the No HUD Funding for Sanctuary Cities Act, legislation that would make sanctuary jurisdictions ineligible for grant funding administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Under current law, jurisdictions that refuse to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement can still receive HUD grant funding. The No HUD Funding for Sanctuary Cities Act would end that practice and ensure federal housing dollars are not directed to sanctuary jurisdictions.
