DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: REQUEST FOR INFORMATION; COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW OF THE ESSENTIAL HEALTH BENEFITS FRAMEWORK AND TYPICAL EMPLOYER PLAN STANDARD

WASHINGTON, June 15 -- Department Of Health And Human Services has issued a proposed rule called: Request for Information; Comprehensive Review of the Essential Health Benefits Framework and Typical Employer Plan Standard.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on June 15 by Robert F. Kennedy, Secretary, Department of Health and Human Services.

Summary: This request for information (RFI) seeks public input to support CMS' comprehensive review of the Essential Health Benefits (EHB) framework and the requirement under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Affordable Care Act) that the scope of EHB be equal to the scope of benefits provided under a typical employer plan.
