DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: WORKER SAFETY AND HEALTH REQUIREMENTS TO SUPPORT REFORM OF NUCLEAR REACTOR TESTING

WASHINGTON, Jan. 21 -- Department Of Energy has issued a proposed rule called: Worker Safety and Health Requirements To Support Reform of Nuclear Reactor Testing.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Jan. 21 by Jennifer Hartzell, Alternate Federal Register Liaison Officer, U.S. Department of Energy.

Summary: The Department of Energy (DOE or the Department) proposes to amend its regulations for worker safety and health to expedite the review, approval, and deployment of advanced reactors under DOE's jurisdiction including qualified test reactors in DOE's reactor pilot program, consistent with a recent Executive order.
