DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: INTENT TO ESTABLISH NEGOTIATED RULEMAKING COMMITTEE

WASHINGTON, Jan. 27 -- Department Of Education has issued a proposed rule called: Intent To Establish Negotiated Rulemaking Committee.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Jan. 27 by David Barker, Assistant Secretary for Postsecondary Education.

Summary: We announce our intention to establish a negotiated rulemaking committee to prepare proposed regulations amending the regulations for the Secretary's recognition of accrediting agencies and related institutional eligibility regulations for the programs authorized under title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended (HEA) (title IV, HEA programs).
