WASHINGTON - Congresswoman Monica De La Cruz (TX-15) introduced the bipartisan Diabetes Prevention Program Reauthorization Act alongside Congressman Lou Correa (CA-46). The legislation reauthorizes and increases funding for the National Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP), a nationwide framework focused on preventing Type 2 diabetes.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), over 40 million Americans are living with diabetes, and up to 43% of adults in the Rio Grande Valley are estimated to have diabetes.
