DANIEL HAMLIN APPOINTED DEAN OF THE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

AUSTIN, Texas, June 29 -- The University of Texas at Austin issued the following news release:

The University of Texas at Austin has named Daniel Hamlin as the nextdeanofthe College of Education. Hamlin, who currently serves asthe state ofOklahoma's secretary of education,will begin his appointment at UT on Aug.16.

In addition to his work as secretary,Hamlin currently serves as a Presidential Professor ofeducationpolicyat the University of Oklahoma,andas director of the Oklahoma Center for Education Policy.He is also aresearchaffiliate at the Program on Education Policy and Governance at Harvard University.
