On September 7, 2026, the Virginia Tech Police Department received a report of a sexual assault. The incident occurred at Cochrane Hall (770 Washington St.) in the evening hours of September 6, 2026. The survivor and suspect were described as acquaintances.
As reported, this incident meets the elements of Rape as defined in Virginia Code 18.2-61 and Forcible Sodomy as defined in Virginia Code 18.2-67.1.
