CONSUMER PRODUCT SAFETY COMMISSION ISSUES RULE: SAFETY STANDARD FOR AUTOMATIC RESIDENTIAL GARAGE DOOR OPERATORS

WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 -- Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a rule called: Safety Standard for Automatic Residential Garage Door Operators.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Oct. 30 by Alberta E. Mills, Secretary, U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

Summary: In October 2025, updates to the entrapment protection provisions in the UL 325 standard were accepted under the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act of 1990 (Improvement Act) for inclusion in the Commission's mandatory safety regulation for automatic residential garage door operators.
