As Americans struggle with a housing affordability crisis, U.S. Congressmen Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34), member of the House Financial Services Committee, and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1), member of the House Ways and Means Committee, introduced H.R. 7647, the bipartisan Minimizing Outdated Restrictions that Exclude (MORE) Opportunities for Homeownership Act.
Specifically, the bill would amend the Federal Home Loan Bank Act to expand eligibility for federally insured credit unions to improve access to low-cost liquidity, collateralized advances, and affordable housing and community investment programs under the Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) System.
