Washington, Feb. 11 -- Congressman Dan Meuser issued the following press release:
Today, Congressman Dan Meuser (PA-09) announced the award of $1.4 million in federal funding for the Shamokin-Coal Township Joint Sewer Authority. The funding was included in the FY26 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Appropriations Act, recently signed into law.
The funding will support critical wastewater infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving operational efficiency, protecting water quality, and helping keep sewer rates affordable for residents. Planned improvements include replacing aging equipment in the Primary and Secondary Settling Tanks and installing a Headworks Grit Chamber to prevent system damage caused by debris.
