One year ago, on July 4, 2025, the Working Families Tax Cuts Act was signed into law, giving tens of millions of Americans more tax relief and economic breathing room to pay their bills and save for their children's futures.
According to government data, more than 60 million filers claimed at least one new tax cut during the legislation's first year of operation. The average refund (approximately $3,300) put 11 percent more money back into the pockets of hardworking Americans than the previous year.
